Reviewing a collection of free software & websites

There no intention of giving a compete overview of available free software. This is the stuff I use and trust, many for years, some for decades.
Always evaluate the software before installation to make sure that is is still free software. Careful to never install toolbars & additional software.

YOU ARE INVITED TO READ THIS PAGE BEFORE CHECKING THE OTHER FREEWARE PAGES

A collection of free software (except where otherwise mentioned)
to protect, clean and enhance your MS Windows computer.

The Microsoft Windows “ Help & How To” pages
Essential when you want to keep this operating system up and running.

win support
The Windows Support page is another essential page for Windows users ;-)

This happened in Belgium with Bill Gates.
My country is famous for it’s many culinary qualities.
The journalist says (in Flemish): “A shining Bill Gates, but not for long.”
Anyway, there were days when a representative of Microsoft deserved a pie in the face. These days, the Operating System is again as good as it can get. But I still believe that the Office prices are WAY TO HIGH, even though it is superb software,... so are the many free pieces of software that you can find on these pages. Check it out.

A funny animated movie with Bill Gates and Steve Jobs quarreling.
The rest of this website is serious,... serious! Enjoy.

Motivation : First things first:

The first essential tools to dig into & enhance MS Windows:

Microsoft TechNet - Sysinternals:

Ultimate Windows Tweaker for Vista & Windows 7

wind0s-g0dm0deWindows God Mode: (Advanced users)

Manage Windows faster by installing the so called “God Mode”.
It is easy: “Make e new map on your desktop and name it “GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}”.
Once you click on the appearing logo, you will find all the Windows configuration tools in one place. Of course this was not developed for end-users. It works in Vista and Windows 7.

belarc_logoBelarc Advisor :

(Quote : The Belarc Advisor builds a detailed profile of your installed software and hardware, missing Microsoft hotfixes, anti-virus status, CIS (Center for Internet Security) benchmarks, and displays the results in your Web browser. All of your PC profile information is kept private on your PC and is not sent to any web server.)

In the old days, there were several good free analyzers (like Aida32).
Now there are mostly rogue system scanners or former good free scanners that became payware. Belarc free Advisor has been around for a long time. It is the tool I use since (good old / Hungarian) Aida32 stopped it’s development.

speccyPiriform Speccy :

A simple and straightforward alternative to see what hardware you have. Piriform is known from Crap Cleaner.
